I took this photo of Whitney in her new hospitality career. I would link to the album, but Facebook would tell you to go suck an egg.

Saneel turned 30, we went to Vegas, and as this photo demonstrates, things went pretty much according to plan.

My soundtrack for today. Heff played this a lot when we lived together.

You can buy the exact version I’m listening to, and play it fuckin’ loud.

Yay, etc, on the election (and boy I hope Prop 8 fails and Al Franken wins), but I’m also really happy to see that http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/ pretty much nailed it with their predictions.

I’ve been sending friends there for a while and like lots of other people I was nervous despite the strong polls, but the open, rational arguments Nate Silver made on his site have been a comfort for the past few months. It’ll be interesting to see if they keep the site around in some capacity, or shut it down until the next big political contest and just stick to baseball.

This New York Magazine Profile is really good background.

It was also really interesting last night to see Charlie Gibson quite literally count down the seconds until polls closed out here to call the race for Obama. Everyone on earth knew it was over when he “took” Ohio, but we had to wait an hour and a half for the big celebration thanks to the 2000 debacle.
